The concept of thoughts is the first of the core elements that comprise the philosophy of Positive Action. The Thoughts-Feelings-Actions Circle illustrates the idea that positive thoughts lead to positive actions, which lead to a sense of pride and contentment.
During this time of year, our lives often become temporarily consumed by the chaos that accompanies the holidays. If our thoughts are saturated with the stressful elements of the season, our feelings will be less than joyful, and our actions far from peaceful. Therefore, it is essential that we remind ourselves, just as we do our students, that we have the ability to alter our mindset by focusing our thoughts on the fortunes in our lives. As our thoughts become more positive, we will find ourselves one step closer to truly experiencing the spirit of the season.
