Cooperation is to work with others for a common purpose.
Cooperation underlies all of the emotional positive actions like treating others the way you want to be treated. The concept of cooperation adds to the idea that contributing just a little to the common good, contributes even more to our own good, by gaining us respect and friendship.
These days competition is emphasized, but we should realize that all major accomplishments throughout history have been a manifestation of working together. Often times we need this same reminder, as we compete to be better than, rather than, cooperate to be the best together.
We can help experience cooperation in small group situations where all we have defined roles, shared resources, and mutual rewards we are striving to achieve. In cooperative environments, we feel our own value, and promote our classmates' successes, leading to strengthened relationships and enhanced self-concepts.
