Kindness is to care for others and take thoughtful actions.
One week ago today marked the commencement of the Season for Nonviolence, a global, 64-day (January 30th - April 4th), grassroots campaign, dedicated to educating and empowering everyday peacemakers. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international movement honors their vision for a world united through peace, and reminds all of us to practice nonviolence one step at a time, one choice at a time, one day at at time.
Every one of you can serve as the catalyst for the creation of a more peaceful school community by choosing words and actions that exude respect, compassion, and kindness.
As one affirmation in the 64-day Calendar suggests, "Today, I will cause a ripple effect of good by an act of kindness towards another."
